Hello from Sandwich Season—where I’m exploring adventures in middle age, sandwiched between aging parents and growing children … and other duties as assigned.
Please note: Today I’m trying out the podcast tool, so if you’d like to listen to this intro instead of reading it, just click play in the image at the top of this message.
A lot of new subscribers have joined me over the past several months, and I’d like to say hello and thank you all so much for tuning in and being part of this adventure.
Sharing my stories with you these past 11 months has helped me feel less alone in a pretty challenging time of life. I hear from so many of you through “likes,” comments and emails that you’re going through or have gone through your own version of sandwich season.
Today, I’m resharing a post I wrote in May: “Everything is important … but not today” (you’ll find it linked below). For those of you who are new here, it’s a window into what my experience of this season has been like and what I’m sharing on this blog.
Additionally, I’m sharing this post for me. It’s my reminder that even when everything seems to need attention at once, sometimes the most important thing to do is just take a break.
So today I’m taking a little writing break … but I’ll be back next week.
Take good care,
Sarah
